We speak dev

SokkoSisu was founded on the belief that recruiters should understand the positions, candidates, and clients that they work with. As recruiters working in the tech field, it’s important to us that we understand the technical aspects of the roles we fill. We know that to find the right fit, we need to speak dev.

Our company name comes from two words in the Finnish language: Sokko (which means blind) and Sisu, which is “a Finnish concept described as stoic determination, tenacity of purpose, grit, bravery, and resilience.”

We chose this name in reference to the determination of our founder, Ryan Boudwin, who upon a diagnosis of a rare genetic eye disease that would cause him to slowly go blind, sought out the training in non-visual skills he needed to continue to work and provide for his family and to live the life he wanted.

The same grit and determination to know what we need to know, and to do whatever needs to be done drives everything we do at SokkoSisu.
